Patio Garden in Romsey

TGS had the pleasure of revamping this patio garden with the brief to ensure it was wheelchair accessible. We laid a new patio and replaced a brick wall flower bed, raising it higher and put in some curves for aesthetics. A new raised circular brick bed was also built which helps soften the lines of the garden.

‘We are delighted with the transformation of our garden undertaken by TGS which was completed within the agreed timescale to a a very high standard.  The TGS team were all, without exception, punctual, hard working, respectful and friendly.  They tidied the site at the end of each day, and  on completion, everything was left neat and tidy.  TGS were professional throughout and we would not hesitate in recommending them, and will certainly be using their services again in the near future.’

Garden Redesign in Salisbury

TGS redesigned this small sloped garden and transformed it into a low maintenance and usable space. We raised the ground level behind the patio and built a small retaining wall inlaid with a step to access the new artificial lawn and deep raised vegetable beds using oak. We also created a flower bed along the opposite wall.

‘TGS kept us informed all the way, the service they gave was excellent, professional, efficient, friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We’re more than happy to recommend them.’

Fern Bed Creation

TGS redesigned this border to create a fern bed. We planted 5 tree ferns of different heights and underplanted with different varieties of ground ferns.  We love this look and feel it is very striking and suits the area well.

Turfing in Romsey

TGS turfed this large lawn at one of our regular clients in Romsey.  This was just one part of a complete garden redesign.  This lawn used to be a large slope and is now a beautiful terraced lawn.  We planted 5,000 crocus bulbs into the shallow bank of the lawn – they look spectacular! Take a look at our gallery page for more photos of this lovely garden.

New Fence in Awbridge

TGS installed a new fence for one of our regular clients.  We used feather board panels with concrete posts and kickboard.  Much of the fence line has flower borders along it so the concrete board means it will not rot and protects the wooden fence panels.  This was a long fence line of over 100m.

Garden Redesign in West Wellow

TGS transformed this front garden by removing overgrown trees, clearing the area, installing a new panel fence and replacing old turf with artificial grass. A lovely Prunus is at its centre and finished with a yew hedge that will fill out over the next few years.

A great result showing a low maintenance front garden that will look fabulous all year.

We couldn’t be more pleased with the work TGS carried out for us. From initial conversations to final result, Teal has been patient, thorough and accommodating. He has a good understanding of what will suit both the client and their garden and works hard to make the most of the project.’

Creation of Cut Flower Bed in West Dean

TGS designed a cut flower bed at one of our regular clients.  A new oval shaped bed was created in the lawn and edged with Everedge.  We dug it over and renovated organic matter into the newly formed bed.  Then we had fun planting it up with lovely herbaceous perennials including beautiful dahlias that would provide colour and flowers to cut from Spring through to autumn. A small path of stepping stones through the middle allows access to cut flowers from the centre of the bed.  It has been in-situ for 2 summers now and has been extremely successful.

New Patio in East Grimstead

TGS replaced the old and uneven patio with new sandstone paving slabs complete with new rope edge borders and slate chippings around the semi-circular wall.  We also replaced the steps with a more functional ramp.

Nursery Garden Design in West Dean

TGS wanted to do something for the nursery that our daughter attended so offered to create something in their garden as a donation to thank them for all their great efforts.  It is a truly amazing nursery and we were happy to give something back.  They asked us to redesign a small area next to their playhouse and requested that we build some kind of play shop/stand.  We dug out the area,  filled with wood chip (donated by a local sawmill) and edged the area with wooden boards and created 2 flower beds to grow sensory plants. We built a play shop and installed a colourful pallet for the children to make a music wall out of household objects at a later date.  We finished it off with colourful painted stepping stones.

Garden Redesign in Romsey

TGS overhauled this small garden in Romsey.  We installed new fencing, gate and trellis using concrete posts.  New raised flower beds using Everedge edging along with a new patio path. TGS also installed a soak away as the garden had some drainage issues. We completed the look with an artificial grass lawn for easy maintenance.   A great project!

‘From initial enquiry to completion of the work, Teal and his team provided a highly professional, friendly, courteous and very conscientious service.  Teal and his colleagues have  been a pleasure to have on site and we have no hesitation in recommending their services.’

Flowerbed Redesigns in Awbridge

TGS was tasked with redesigning the flower beds and borders at one of our regular clients garden.  The client likes structural elements, clean lines and loves roses and colour.  We can’t wait to see how it develops over the coming years. Here you can see before and after photos. Take a look at the gallery page for further photos of this garden.

New Fence in West Dean

TGS removed the old fence and replaced with new feather edge fencing, including a new gate and posts at the entrance to the driveway. An elm tree that was in the path of the fence was felled.

Planting a Willow Den

We planted a willow den in our own garden. The location is an area where grass will not grow so we made a circle of artificial grass edged with Everedge and then surrounded with wood chippings.  This is now a lovely shady spot to sit down and relax in the summertime and makes a great play den for our daughter!

Dean House Garden, West Dean

Please click through the before and after photos of the extensive works that TGS has undergone at Dean House.  Most prominent is the work completed in the one acre walled garden, which was severely overgrown when TGS started working at Dean House several years ago.

Compost bin construction!

TGS have built numerous compost bins for our clients.  Here are some examples. They look much better than the ‘plastic bins’ you can buy and are much easier to manage and turn. They are all made to a specific size to suit your garden and the space available.

New patio in our own garden!

We replaced and extended our own patio which involved shifting a lot of earth from an old raised bed and cutting down a wall to create a stepped patio.  We replaced steps with ramps for ease of access with the lawnmower and added a step from the back door. We chose Sawn Sandstone in Chestnut colour mix and created a curve on the patio along with a curved small rose bed next to it.  Along the fence line we installed an oak sleeper flower bed and clad the existing retaining wall with oak.  The patio is edged using Everedge and blue slate. We love it!

Grass Bed Design in Landford

TGS designed and planted this lovely oval shaped grass bed which includes 3 Hammamelis for winter interest.  We edged the bed using Everedge.  These photos show the bed from before planting and then 2 years of summers and winters.  It has developed into a stunning all year round bed and is a good example of how different ornamental grass species can be used.

Our own front garden!

The work doesn’t stop when we get home…. We replaced our front lawn with raised beds for vegetables and a greenhouse.  We removed two large conifers and hedging.  Finally, we enclosed it with a new fence with 3 gates for easy access to the fruit and veg!
